Why I love Pilates

Pilates is amazing for your posture and supporting your spine. It helps keep your joints in alignment, keeps them fluid, flexible and builds your strength and mobility. It helps prevent injury through increasing strength, improving alignment and raising body awareness.

It’s a full body strength workout. Pilates is not just stretching! It can be as hard or as gentle as you want it to be. It’s very easy to up the intensity or reduce it depending on what your body needs on any given day.

Also, because you’re focusing on your breathing, core engagement and precision of movement, your mind is in your body and so it’s a fab mind/ body connection. You come out feeling like you’ve had a mental reset.

Why I teach Pilates

My aim is to help as many people as possible to discover the joy and benefits of movement both for their body and mind. I have a family history of complex orthopeadic challenges and so have always wanted to use and protect my body to the best of my ability.

I truly believe that learning to move your body correctly, purposefully and with control aids functional, day to day activities, eases aches and pains and so importantly in this ever demanding world, helps calm and restore the mind.

Jospeh Pilates said "Change happens through movement and movement heals". I agree!

Why Practice Pilates?

  • Core Strength and Stability: Build a strong, stable core which will improve posture, balance, and overall body control.

  • Flexibility and Range of Motion: Increase your flexibility and range of motion, for greater ease of movement in your daily activities.

  • Reduce aches & pain: Learn to move in a controlled way to reduce stiffness and release tension in the body

  • Injury Prevention: Strengthen your body and improve your movement patterns to reduce your risk of injury.

  • Mind-Body Connection: Connect with your body through mindful movement and breathwork, promoting physical and mental well-being, a sense of calm and relaxation

  • Improved Athletic Performance: Enhance your performance in any sport by improving your core strength, flexibility and body control.

  • Rehabilitation:  safely and effectively recover from injuries and regain strength and mobility.

Why Choose KPilates?

I take a comprehensive approach to wellness, focusing on building strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. I prioritise personalised attention and customise your session to align with your specific needs and aspirations.

I am dedicated to guiding you towards a healthier and more vibrant life.

Personalised Approach

I keep my classes small, to a maximum of 10 people, so that I can demonstrate, but then observe and correct individuals. I work to a lesson plan to ensure gradual progression and tailer exercises to suit individual needs within a class. This ensures that you get the most out of your class and get what your body needs to improve and progress. It's not one size fits all, but it is for everyone!

Expert Guidance

I have completed my certification for both matwork and reformer Pilates with Body Control Pilates, one of the world's most recognised and respected Pilates organisations. Widely seen as a benchmark for safe and effective teaching of the highest quality, BCP has been training teachers since 1996 and meets the requirements of the Society of Pilates Method and Level 3 Pilates national standard. I have additional qualifications in Pilates for bone health and osteoporosis, also with BCP.  Body Control Pilates

So I ensure an environment of support and encouragement, both in private sessions and also in my small, fun and friendly group classes, providing you with the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and embark on your Pilates journey feeling supported, safe and secure. It's about safe movement and progression, not perfection. It's meant to be fun after all!
